What actually makes polyamorous relationships work?

In my experience as a polyamorous person, a community leader, and a coach, if what you’re looking for is extraordinary love in your life, throwing out the monogamy script and opening yourself to multiple sexual and romantic partners is just one step of many on that journey. You most likely also have to completely rewrite the scripts of how you do relationships. Most of us have largely experienced relationships rooted in control, obligation, manipulation, rigidity, reactivity, judgment, shame, and scarcity. Getting rid of monogamy alone does not shift these behaviors. Truly extraordinary relationships, whether polyamorous or monogamous, require mutual empowerment, nuance, vulnerability, consent, collaboration, compassion, and abundance. I believe that’s what actually makes polyamorous relationships (and any other relationship) work. It’s my passion and my purpose to help you learn how to do that.
